The New Mitsubishi Triton - Specs

2022 Mitsubishi Triton

We are nearing the end of 2021, and the Mitsubishi Triton lineup has been reshuffled for 2022.

The 4x4 dual-cab manual is no longer available on the mid-range GLX-R, but the 4x4 auto model has been joined by a 4x2 dual-cab auto. New black alloy wheels have also been added. The GLX 4x4 dual-cab ute is now also available with a 6-speed automatic transmission or manual transmission.

Additionally, the GLX ADAS trim level, which added active security and driver aid technology to the standard GLX grade, has been removed from the lineup.

Nevertheless, the GLX dual-cab ute and cab-chassis now incorporate the former GLX ADAS's additional functions.

The GLX ADAS club-cab chassis auto has been rebranded GLX, but the manual version – as well as any single-cab GLX cars – still lack technology such as automatic headlights and autonomous emergency braking.

A few more features have been tweaked throughout the board. Surround-view cameras are no longer included on the GSR. To acquire this, you need to choose the Tan Orange interior model, just as the feature is only available on GLS vehicles with the Deluxe option deal.

With the exception of one model, prices increased across the board for MY21 and have done so again for MY22. That is the GSR, which costs $53,240 prior to on-road costs, which is $250.

The rest of the line has witnessed price hikes ranging from $250 to $1200.

It comes in a cab chassis or a conventional ute with a tub, and it comes in Double Cab, Single Cab, or the in-the-middle Club Cab body types.

In 2022 or 2023, we expect a new model, and it may look a lot like the upcoming Nissan Navara and has similar features in terms of fuel economy and fuel consumption, 6-speed automatic and 6-speed manual transmission, and towing capacity.

Mitsubishi Triton Model

Legendary Mitsubishi Triton ruggedness is combined with bold contemporary style, cutting-edge technology, and unparalleled comfort in the Triton Double Cab. Triton is an option that appeals to both the mind and the heart, with powerful performance supported by integrated connectivity and safety. The black 18-inch alloy wheels, blacked-out top, and blacked-out grille of the GSR make a sporty impact, along with leather-appointed heated front seats and a long list of other desirable interior options.

2.4 Litre MIVEC Turbo Diesel Engine

Mitsubishi's 2.4-litre MIVEC engine is crucial to Triton's outstanding performance. When it comes to dominating performance and maximum efficiency, the DOHC common rail diesel engine is intercooled and turbocharged, generating a peak torque of 430Nm at 133kW of power. With a braked towing capacity of 3100kg, Triton's low-down grunt means you can enjoy enthusiastic driving and considerable luggage capacity. The engine is one of the quietest, smoothest, and most efficient engines in the industry, thanks to its lightweight materials, which include an aluminium block. It combines great performance and uncomplicated efficiency in one dynamic package.

Super Select II 4WD

Mitsubishi's Super Select II 4WD technology for the Triton GSR and GLS provides surefooted performance in any situation. This innovative system allows you to convert between 2WD and 4WD system modes at speeds up to 100 km/h, allowing you to react quickly to adapting road conditions. Super Select offers four settings, each controlled by a single switch, to manage everything from smooth city streets to hazardous situations and harsh terrain with limited grip levels.

Let us take a closer look at some of these specs:

  • 2H - In typical driving situations, 2H (2WD High Range) simply powers the back wheels, resulting in maximum fuel consumption efficiency.
  • 4H - 4H (Full Time 4WD) distributes power to all four wheels, making it excellent for difficult roads or dangerous conditions.
  • 4HLC - In rough terrain with poor grip levels, 4HLC (4WD High Range with Locked Center Differential) reduces wheel spin.
  • 4LCC - 4LLC (4WD Low Range with Locked Centre Differential) maximizes traction on sand, steep climbs, and thick snow by harnessing the power and torque of the Mitsubishi Triton at low speeds. The Exterior of the Mitsubishi Triton
